About Our Company
How long has Tri-State Paving been in business?
More than four decades. We have been paving, pouring, and building across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland for over forty years, most of it repeat customers and referrals.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Every job is handled in-house by our own crews and machinery, from the first estimate to final compaction. The people who quote your job are the people who do it.
What areas do you serve?
We work throughout the tri-state region from our home base in Nottingham, PA, covering southeastern Pennsylvania, northern Delaware, and northern Maryland.
Estimates and Pricing
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes, every estimate is free and carries no obligation. We come out, assess your property, and walk you through exactly what the project needs and what it costs.
How do you price a project?
Pricing depends on the size, the site conditions, the materials, and the prep work involved. We don’t give vague quotes or sell hot air, you see what goes into the number before you commit.
Will the price change once work starts?
We quote as accurately as possible up front. If something unexpected turns up underground, we stop, explain it, and talk through the fix before moving ahead. No surprise charges.
Asphalt Paving
How long does a new asphalt driveway last?
A properly built asphalt driveway can last 20 to 30 years with basic maintenance. The lifespan comes down to the base and compaction, which is where we focus.
When can I drive on new asphalt?
Most surfaces are ready for foot traffic within a day and vehicle traffic within a few days, though full curing takes longer in hot weather. We’ll give you specifics for your job.
Can you repair my asphalt instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. If the base is still sound, an overlay or infrared repair can restore the surface for far less than a full replacement. We’ll tell you honestly which makes sense.
Concrete and Hardscaping
What's the difference between concrete and paver patios?
Concrete pours as one solid surface and takes decorative finishes well. Pavers flex with the ground, resist cracking, and let individual units be lifted and reset. We build both and help you choose.
How long does concrete take to cure?
Concrete is usually ready for foot traffic in a day or two and full strength in about a month. We control the cure so it reaches full strength without cracking.
Will my hardscaping shift or settle over time?
Not when it’s built right. We excavate and compact a deep base, plan drainage, and lock every unit, which is what keeps patios and walls level and straight for years.
Scheduling and Process
How far out are you booked?
It varies by season, with spring and fall being busiest. We schedule tight and respond quickly, so reach out early and we’ll give you a realistic timeline for your project.
What happens if a problem comes up during the job?
We tell you the same day. Heavy construction runs into surprises, and our approach is simple: keep you updated, outline the fix, and respond with urgency to make the imperfect perfect.
Do you handle both residential and commercial work?
Yes. From a single home driveway to a commercial parking lot, our crews handle residential and commercial projects across all three trades.
